Rothley Ivanhoe Tennis Club organises various social events throughout the year. We feel these are an important aspect of the club. They are ideal for new members of the club who are perhaps new to the area and would like to meet other club members away from the tennis courts. These events also help people to get to know each other better and help to strengthen team bonding and friendships.

Rachel and Alan Greaves are working together on the social programme for the year. Plans are being formulated and include:

SOCIAL EVENTS - 2012

Saturday in April (TBC) – Dining out evening

Saturday May 19th – Local Walk and Lunch – destination to be advised, but close to Rothley

Saturday June 23rd - Strawberries/Pimms afternoon – Play some Social Tennis, and enjoy a Wimbldonesque afternoon 2-4pm

Saturday July 7th - Bike Ride – a leisurely bike ride, not too far, but far enough to maybe stop off for adrink/or bite to eat prior to Wimbledon Ladies Final

Saturday September 29th – The Famous Rothley Tennis Quiz, includes a light supper and 1st Drink

Saturday in October (TBC) – Fish and Chip Supper at the acclaimed Time and Plaice Restaurant in Rothley

Saturday November 10th – Rothley Tennis Club Awards Evening and Barn Dance – Rothley Centre, includes Supper – Take your partner by the hand, Swing her/Him round to the Band(well caller actually)

Sunday in December (TBC) – Social Tennis, combined with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies
